Apple growers, cider producers, and others interested in mechanical harvesting of apples are invited to see a demonstration of mechanical shakers and harvesters, including the Jagoda Pestka tree shaker, Krauss SF1000A harvester, and Organic Toolsβ Silver Fox. Learn the latest in mechanical harvesting and orchard management techniques that facilitate labor saving harvesting. Weβll likely be harvesting Redfield and Yarlington Mill. Additional updates from Cornellβs Cider Apple Research Program will also be presented.
No fee or pre-registration required for the mechanical harvesting demonstration.
Dinner is a separate event to celebrate Cider Week. It includes a three-course meal featuring the Droptop cider made from mechanically harvested fruit grown on site in Walden and the Extension Cider which is made from fruit from Cornellβs Cider Apple Research Program and research orchards. RSVP required–only 30 seats are available.
