New York Cider Association to Offer Social Justice Training

These three sessions, led by Dr. J. Jackson-Beckham from Crafted for All, will provide actionable guidance for cideries on social justice issues. These sessions are designed specifically for the NY cider industry in order to help your business to improve bottom lines by incorporating diversity, equity, and justice into standard operating practices from supply chain, to hiring, to marketing.

The sessions consist of a recorded lecture that will be shared in advance followed by an in-person seminar where you will join your cider industry peers in conversation facilitated by Dr. J. Jackson-Beckham in order to understand and operationalize the material presented in the lecture.

SESSION I: Fans, Hands and Brands: Equity and Inclusion in the Cider Industry

Monday, April 5, 2021 – 4:30pm

Dr. J.’s interactive talk will inspire attendees to rethink how we approach diversity and inclusion.

SESSION II: Processes not Programs: SOPs for Equity and Inclusion

Monday, April 12, 2021 – 4:30pm

In this talk, Dr. J. will demonstrate how organizations can build inclusion, equity, and justice into standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Demonstrates how these three concepts can be used as a tool to evaluate existing and future organizational policies and initiatives.

 

SESSION II: Paved with Good Intentions: Putting IEJ Strategy into Practice

Monday, April 19, 2021 – 4:30pm

In this talk, Dr. J guides attendees through building a comprehensive strategic plan for inclusion, equity, and justice (IEJ) work.

Upon completion of the first three sessions in the CORE SEMINAR series, attendees will be invited to register for the remaining three sessions in the TOPICAL SEMINAR series. The Core Seminar is a pre-requisite for the Topical Seminar.
